Overview of Privacy, research and other issues
You may have an issue or concern about how your personal information was handled, or about the conduct of research at the University.
Privacy concerns can arise when you think your personal information was collected, used, or shared incorrectly.
Research concerns can arise when you believe research was not conducted honestly or ethically.
This also covers issues with education agents and international student experiences.
The options below list certain issue types that may guide your next steps.
Types of privacy and research issues
Choose the option that best matches your situation to find the right pathway and contact point.
-
If you believe your personal information hasn't been handled correctly (for example how it was collected, stored, used or disclosed), you can raise a privacy complaint with the University's Privacy team.
If you are not satisfied with the University's response, you can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as an external option.
-
Issues about research misconduct or breaches of research integrity are managed under the University's Research Integrity and Misconduct Policy. These issues follow a different process from the general complaints pathway.
-
If your concern relates to your experience as an international student (for example issues with your visa, compliance, or support) specialist advice is available. Stop 1 can help you understand your options and connect you with the right service.
